Gold Rush Mother Lode

On September 8th, somewhere in central California, teams from all over the world  will take on the Gold Rush Mother Lode. A four day expedition race covering over 250 miles of the most jaw dropping terrain that California has to offer.

So far twelve teams, including a Finnish and Canadian team, have signed up to take on this epic race course designed by famed adventure racers Mark Richardson and Adrian “Ados” Crane. Tecnu Extreme/staphAseptic adventure racing who placed 2nd at the National Championships in 2010 will be on hand to press the pace as well.

The Gold Rush Mother Lode is an Expedition length Checkpoint Tracker event worth 200 points to the 1st place team.

Here’s what race promoter Doug Judson had to say about the race:

With over seven months until the gun goes off, we expect to have a large field of racers toeing the line. We have great swag, killer sponsors to include title sponsor Tecnu Extreme and staphAseptic, KEEN footwear, Princeton-Tec, nuun, and many more exciting things in the works for racers to be announced in the coming months including a fun Gold Rush themed finish. The Gold Rush is the best expedition race value by far in 2011 for cost conscious racers at $2245 for a four person team. Great pre/post race venues, killer swag, prize money, incredible terrain, a competitive field, very experienced race directors who are top racers themselves, well thought out and planned race course and much more.  We are also providing boats for a nominal surcharge. We are taking care of it for you. Fly in, race hard, go home with HUGE memories. Teams should fly into San Fransisco or Reno, and out of Sacramento. The course is secret but we will tell you that there’s sections that are at sea level, and other area’s at high elevation, but when you cross the finish line you will have experienced a lifetime of memories in just four days. Don’t miss out.  Come feel the Rush!
