Look what I just got in the mail!!!

This is the Mad Water Adventure Racing Backack from Roc Gear.

I got my first glimpse of this thing at the Outdoor Retailer tradeshow in Utah last week. I just happened to walk by their booth and it began calling to me from across the show floor.

This pack may very well be the pack we’ve all been waiting for.

Designed over the course of two years with input from more than a dozen adventure racers, the Mad Water is actually just one component in a system designed to provide solutions to the most common needs of adventure racers. Ya, there’s an optional Waist Pack (not shown) too.

Hydration sleeve with dual ports…check. WATERPROOF storage for gear and food…check. Options for securely fastening trekking poles, shoes and a helmet AT THE SAME TIME…check. Reinforced steel clips for waterproof map case…check. Adjustable shoulder straps…check.

You get the idea.

This pack was made by Roc Gear explicitly for short duration adventure races and I think they’ve got a winner on their hands. I’m gonna put it through it’s paces tomorrow and I’ll follow up with my initial impressions.
